ColoRado-based Photography and Videography by Gavin Black
Gavin Black is a photographer, videographer, and digital artist out of Longmont CO. Specializing in portrait and automotive photography, Gavin looks to capture the emotion and stylistic presence of each of his subjects whether it be a person themself or a persons prized possessions.
Stylistic Approach
The Stylistic approach in Gavin’s work can be seen from pre-shoot planning all the way to post production. He searches for any way to make a photo give off an ethereal, dream like feeling. Constantly inspired by his own imagination and thought provoking works of art online, Gavin uses his medium of photography and videography to creatively express his own visions and emotions as well as the clients that he works with.
From subject duplication, photoshopping sections of the image, multi-exposure work, and other techniques, Gavin strives to make a piece that you’ll want to put on the wall or share on all socials.
Portrait COLLECTION
Portrait photography is one of Gavin’s main topics of practice. Constantly looking to bend the rules of typical “clean” appearances and traditional portraits, he opts to turn an image into something a bit more grunge, dreamy, and artistic. Although personal portraits under this aesthetic is something Gavin does lots of, getting into the concert/live music scene is something he is looking to start as it encapsulates a similar vibe and emotion.
AutoMotive Collection
As an avid car and bike enthusiast himself, Gavin has a large passion for the automotive side of photography and videography. Similar to portraits, each vehicle has its own unique character and aesthetic that the owner is looking to portray. Being able to capture these emotions and characteristics and create a stylistic piece the owner will love is the end goal in every shoot.
Landscape Collection
Landscape imagery is just as important when it comes to capturing an aesthetic or emotion. Often times the surroundings will make or break an image of any subject. Being able to bring the character of the surroundings into the composition is a goal that Gavin strives to achieve with each shoot.
